Problems installing Gress

Summary:

I installed all files (or so I think) for running Grass in my macOS Sierra desktop. But when I try to open Grass all I get is a console window with the message below. I am not a programmer, but I really want to run my research based on open access software. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem running the latest version of Sierra. I followed these directions to disable the system integrity feature and it fixed my problem:

1. Restart your Mac in Recovery Mode. To do this, choose Restart from the Apple menu, and as soon as the screen turns black hold down Command + R on the keyboard until the Apple logo appears on your screen.
2. Select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
3. In the Terminal Window that opens type: csrutil disable
4. Press the Return key.
5. Choose Restart from the Apple menu.
